Firlough Wind Farm and Green Hydrogen Project
Planning was awarded by An Bord Plenala in 2013.
Revised planning currently being sought to reduce the number of turbines to a maximum of 13.
The project will connect to the electricity grid network via under-ground cable.
48MW MEC was awarded by EirGrid in ECP-1 during 2018 and a further 27MW was awarded to the project in ECP-2 during 2020.

May 2022: Engaged with local community results in re-think of siting of hydrogen project
September 2022: Mercury hosts two public information days in Bonniconlon and Castleconnor attended by more than 100 people, with the overwhelming majority of those in attendance supporting the development
